Tommorrow, Begins the Family Odyssey

So tomorrow begins the car trip to Connecticut.......Gee haven't been there in six years......wonder if it's changed much? My bags hopefully will be packed with all the essentials I need...like clothing,camera and food stuffs. Wtching the weather reports and all the flooding going on exactly where we nave to tread.....makes me understand why this trip I call an "odyssey" truly will be. We have the endgame location to stay at upon arrival, whenever that will be.........but our itinerary is left to the imagination........we will see family and friends..........this a holiday week..July 4th...hopefully there will be some picnics to go too......miss those family picnics!!!!! Maybe go for a swim in the hotel pool before dinner.......that would be nice. Can't wait to have one of those "clambakes" at the "Captain's Cove" and take a whiff of that salty stagnant Long Island Sound air...........gee wiz...I have forgotten that smell....ugh!!!!.....but the nostalgia is still there with the memory of it!!! heehee!!!! Considering I now live in beautiful, sexy Florida and the ocean has that usual salty smell you read about in poems and books. My oceans are blue-green, not dismal earthy mud.

The trip through at least nine states and half of my own should be interesting.......like to stop at some of the Civil War battlefields and take some pictures , maybe stop at some of the antique shops along the way........I know we will be stopping at some pretty neat restaurants: my new thing is to by a tee-shirt from every restaurant we visit ..........kinda like the old state dishes my husband has from his mom and dad when they used to go traveling by car. This would be a nice tradition to start...cause if you dont' wear the tees...they could always be framed.......that would be fun.

So early tomorrow early the Odyssey begins!!!!! See you all upon my return.....lots to tell and pictures to show (I hope)..*smile*
